حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عِرْقٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُسْرٍ، قَالَ أَهْدَيْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ شَاةً فَجَثَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ يَأْكُلُ فَقَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ مَا هَذِهِ الْجِلْسَةُ فَقَالَ " إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَعَلَنِي عَبْدًا كَرِيمًا وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارًا عَنِيدًا " .

ʿAmr ibn ʿUthmān ibn Saʿīd ibn Kathīr ibn Dīnār al-Ḥimṣī narrated to us: My father narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿIrq informed us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Busr narrated to us, who said: I gave the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a sheep as a gift. The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) knelt on his knees to eat. A Bedouin said: What is this way of sitting? He replied: God has made me a noble servant, not a tyrannical and obstinate ruler.
