Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us: Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, from Hishām al-Dastawāʾī, from Budayl ibn Maysarah, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr, from ʿĀʾishah, who said: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) was eating with six of his Companions when a Bedouin came and ate it in two mouthfuls. The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Had he said “In the name of God,” it would have sufficed for all of you. When one of you eats, let him say “In the name of God.” If he forgets to say it at the beginning, let him say “In the name of God at its beginning and end.”
