Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَأَنَا آكُلُ " سَمِّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .

Muḥammad ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah, from his father, from ʿUmar ibn Abī Salamah, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me while I was eating: Mention the name of God, Mighty and Sublime.
