Sunan Ibn Majah 3269
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ طَعَامًا فَلاَ يَمْسَحْ يَدَهُ حَتَّى يَلْعَقَهَا أَوْ يُلْعِقَهَا " . قَالَ سُفْيَانُ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ، يَسْأَلُ عَمْرَو بْنَ دِينَارٍ أَرَأَيْتَ حَدِيثَ عَطَاءٍ " لاَ يَمْسَحْ أَحَدُكُمْ يَدَهُ حَتَّى يَلْعَقَهَا أَوْ يُلْعِقَهَا " . عَمَّنْ هُوَ قَالَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ . قَالَ فَإِنَّهُ حُدِّثْنَاهُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ . قَالَ حَفِظْنَاهُ مِنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْدَمَ جَابِرٌ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنَّمَا لَقِيَ عَطَاءٌ جَابِرًا فِي سَنَةٍ جَاوَرَ فِيهَا بِمَكَّةَ .

Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿUmar al-ʿAdanī narrated to us: Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Ibn ʿAbbās, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When one of you has eaten, let him not wipe his hand until he has licked it or had it licked. Sufyān said: I heard ʿUmar ibn Qays ask ʿAmr ibn Dīnār: Regarding the report of ʿAṭāʾ, “Let none of you wipe his hand until he has licked it or had it licked,” from whom did you hear it? He said: From Ibn ʿAbbās. ʿUmar said: It was also narrated to us from Jābir. ʿAmr replied: We learned it from ʿAṭāʾ, from Ibn ʿAbbās, before Jābir came to us. ʿAṭāʾ only met Jābir in a year when he stayed in Makkah.
