Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us: ʿUbayd ibn Saʿīd narrated to us. [Another chain:] Muḥammad ibn Bashshār narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us. Both said: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Qatādah, from ʿUqbah ibn Ṣuhbān, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mughaffal, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited pebble-flicking and said: It does not kill game or harm an enemy, but it pierces an eye and breaks a tooth.
