Sunan Ibn Majah 3244
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبَأَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ بِأَرْنَبَيْنِ مُعَلِّقَهُمَا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ هَذَيْنِ الأَرْنَبَيْنِ فَلَمْ أَجِدْ حَدِيدَةً أُذَكِّيهِمَا بِهَا فَذَكَّيْتُهُمَا بِمَرْوَةٍ أَفَآكُلُ قَالَ " كُلْ " .

Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us: Yazīd ibn Hārūn informed us: Dāwūd ibn Abī Hind informed us, from al-Shaʿbī, from Muḥammad ibn Ṣafwān, who said: I passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carrying two rabbits. I said: Messenger of God, I caught these two rabbits but found no metal blade with which to slaughter them, so I slaughtered them with a flintstone. May I eat them? He said: Eat.
