حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنْ أَكْلِ الْهِرَّةِ وَثَمَنِهَا.

al-Ḥusayn ibn Mahdī informed us: ʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us: ʿUmar ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, who said: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited eating cats and taking payment for them.
