Sunan Ibn Majah 3214
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنِ الصَّيْدِ بِالْمِعْرَاضِ . قَالَ " مَا أَصَبْتَ بِحَدِّهِ فَكُلْ وَمَا أَصَبْتَ بِعَرْضِهِ فَهُوَ وَقِيذٌ " .

ʿAmr ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us: Wakīʿ narrated to us. [Another chain:] ʿAlī ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Fuḍayl narrated to us. Both said: Zakariyyā ibn Abī Zāʾidah narrated to us, from ʿĀmir, from ʿAdī ibn Ḥātim, who said: I asked the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) about hunting with a miʿrāḍ. He said: Whatever it strikes with its sharp edge, eat; whatever it strikes with its broad side is a fatal blow.
