Sunan Ibn Majah 3221
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَمَّالُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُلاَثَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ إِذَا دَعَا عَلَى الْجَرَادِ قَالَ " اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِكْ كِبَارَهُ وَاقْتُلْ صِغَارَهُ وَأَفْسِدْ بَيْضَهُ وَاقْطَعْ دَابِرَهُ وَخُذْ بِأَفْوَاهِهَا عَنْ مَعَايِشِنَا وَأَرْزَاقِنَا إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ " . فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ تَدْعُو عَلَى جُنْدٍ مِنْ أَجْنَادِ اللَّهِ بِقَطْعِ دَابِرِهِ قَالَ " إِنَّ الْجَرَادَ نَثْرَةُ الْحُوتِ فِي الْبَحْرِ " . قَالَ هَاشِمٌ قَالَ زِيَادٌ فَحَدَّثَنِي مَنْ رَأَى الْحُوتَ يَنْثُرُهُ .

Hārūn ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥammāl narrated to us: Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us: Ziyād ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUlāthah narrated to us, from Mūsā ibn Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, from his father, from Jābir and Anas ibn Mālik, that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed against locusts, he would say: O God, destroy the large ones, kill the small ones, ruin their eggs, eradicate them, and keep their mouths from our livelihoods and provisions. You are the One who hears supplication. A man said: Messenger of God, how can you pray for the eradication of an army among the armies of God? He said: Locusts are the offspring scattered by fish in the sea. Hāshim said: Ziyād said: Someone who had seen the fish scattering them narrated this to me.
