Killing runaway animals Sunan Ibn Majah 3184
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعُشَرَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا تَكُونُ الذَّكَاةُ إِلاَّ فِي الْحَلْقِ وَاللَّبَّةِ قَالَ " لَوْ طَعَنْتَ فِي فَخِذِهَا لأَجْزَأَكَ "
Translation
It wasnarrated from Abu ‘Ushara’ that his father said
“I said: ‘OMessenger of Allah, should slaughtering only be done in the throat orupper chest?’ He said: ‘If you stab it in the thigh that willsufficeyou.’”
