Sunan Ibn Majah 1214
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ إِحْدَى صَلاَتَىِ الْعَشِيِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى خَشَبَةٍ كَانَتْ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَسْتَنِدُ إِلَيْهَا فَخَرَجَ سَرَعَانُ النَّاسِ يَقُولُونَ قَصُرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ . وَفِي الْقَوْمِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ فَهَابَاهُ أَنْ يَقُولاَ لَهُ شَيْئًا وَفِي الْقَوْمِ رَجُلٌ طَوِيلُ الْيَدَيْنِ يُسَمَّى ذَا الْيَدَيْنِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَقَصُرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ أَمْ نَسِيتَ؟ فَقَالَ " لَمْ تَقْصُرْ وَلَمْ أَنْسَ " . قَالَ فَإِنَّمَا صَلَّيْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ . فَقَالَ " أَكَمَا يَقُولُ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ؟ " . قَالُوا نَعَمْ . قَالَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ .
Ali bin Muhammad narrated to us: Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Ibn Awn, from Ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us in one of the two afternoon prayers and prayed two rakahs, then gave the taslim. Then he stood and went to a piece of wood in the mosque and leaned on it. The people who were quick to leave went out, saying: The prayer has been shortened. Abu Bakr and Umar were among the people, but they were too awed to say anything to him. Among them was a man with long hands called Dhul-Yadain. He said: Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been shortened, or did you forget? He replied: It has not been shortened, and I did not forget. The man said: You prayed only two rakahs. He asked: Is Dhul-Yadain right? They said: Yes. He stood, prayed two rakahs, gave the taslim, performed two prostrations, then gave the taslim again.
