Sunan Ibn Majah 1229
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا قُطْبَةُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَابَاهْ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ مَرَّ بِهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي جَالِسًا فَقَالَ " صَلاَةُ الْجَالِسِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلاَةِ الْقَائِمِ " .
Translation
Uthman bin Abu Shaibah narrated to us: Yahya bin Adam narrated to us: Qutbah narrated to us, from Al-Amash, from Habib bin Abu Thabit, from Abdullah bin Babah, from Abdullah bin Amr, that the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by him while he was praying seated and said: The prayer of one who prays seated is half of the prayer of one who prays standing.
