Sunan Ibn Majah 1243
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ يَقْنُتُ فِي صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ. يَدْعُو عَلَى حَىٍّ مِنْ أَحْيَاءِ الْعَرَبِ، شَهْرًا. ثُمَّ تَرَكَ .
Translation
Nasr bin Ali Al-Jahdami narrated to us: Yazid bin Zurai narrated to us: Hisham narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas bin Malik, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite Qunut in the Subh prayer and supplicate against one Arab tribe for a month; then he stopped.
