Raising the hands when bowing, and when raising the head from bowing Sunan Ibn Majah 858
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، وَأَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلمـ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ، رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا مَنْكِبَيْهِ، وَإِذَا رَكَعَ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ. وَلاَ يَرْفَعُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ .
Translation
It wasnarrated that Ibn ‘Umar said
“I saw the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ)raising his hands until they were parallel to his shoulders whenhestarted the prayer, and when he bowed in Ruku’, and when he raisedhis head from Ruku’, but he did not raise them between the twoprostrations.”
