What was narrated concerning going out on the day of ‘Eid via one route and returning via another route Sunan Ibn Majah 1299
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَيَخْرُجُ إِلَى الْعِيدِ فِي طَرِيقٍ وَيَرْجِعُ فِي أُخْرَى وَيَزْعُمُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ .
Translation
It wasnarrated from Ibn ‘Umar that he used to go out to the ‘Eidprayers via one route, and return via another, and he said that theMessenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to do that.
