Sunan Ibn Majah 1304
Hisham ibn Ammar narrated to us; Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us. Another chain: Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim narrated to us; al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us. They both said: al-Awzai narrated to us; Nafi informed me, from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go to the prayer ground on Eid day in the morning, with an anazah carried in front of him. When he reached the prayer ground, it was planted before him, and he prayed facing it. This was because the prayer ground was an open space with nothing to use as a screen.
