Sunan Ibn Majah 1328

Ali ibn Muhammad narrated to us; Waki and Ubaydullah ibn Musa narrated to us, from Nasr ibn Ali al-Jahdami, from al-Nadr ibn Shayban. Another chain: Yahya ibn Hakim narrated to us; Abu Dawud narrated to us; Nasr ibn Ali al-Jahdami and al-Qasim ibn al-Fadl al-Huddani narrated to us, both from al-Nadr ibn Shayban, who said: I met Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman and said, ‘Tell me a hadith you heard from your father mentioning Ramadan.’ He said, ‘Yes.’ My father told me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned Ramadan and said: ‘It is a month whose fasting Allah has prescribed for you, and whose night prayer I have established as a practice for you. Whoever fasts it and stands in prayer during it, with faith and seeking reward, will emerge from his sins as on the day his mother bore him.’
