حَدَّثَنَا رَاشِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مَيْسَرَةَ، مَوْلَى فَضَالَةَ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏ "‏ لَلَّهُ أَشَدُّ أَذَنًا إِلَى الرَّجُلِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ مِنْ صَاحِبِ الْقَيْنَةِ إِلَى قَيْنَتِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Translation

Rashid ibn Sa‘id ibn Rashid al-Ramli narrated to us; al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us; al-Awza‘i narrated to us; Isma‘il ibn Ubayd Allah narrated to us, from Maysarah, the freedman of Fadalah, from Fadalah ibn Ubayd, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Allah listens more intently to a man with a beautiful voice who recites the Qur’an aloud than the owner of a singing woman listens to her.’
