Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ، بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، حَدَّثَتْنِي شَعْثَاءُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ صَلَّى يَوْمَ بُشِّرَ بِرَأْسِ أَبِي جَهْلٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ .
Translation
Abu Bishr Bakr ibn Khalaf narrated to us; Salamah ibn Raja‘ narrated to us; Sha‘tha narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed two rak‘ahs on the day he was given the glad tidings of the head of Abu Jahl.
