What was narrated concerning the virtue of praying in the Sacred Mosque and the Mosque of the Prophet (saws) Sunan Ibn Majah 1405
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " صَلاَةٌ فِي مَسْجِدِي هَذَا أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلاَةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ إِلاَّ الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ "
Translation
It wasnarrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) said
“Oneprayerin this mosque of mine is better than one thousand prayers inanyother mosque except the Sacred Mosque.”
