Sunan Ibn Majah 1416

Ahmad ibn Thabit al-Jahdari narrated to us; Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from Abu Hazim, who said: The people differed about what the minbar of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was made from, so they went to Sahl ibn Sa‘d and asked him. He said: ‘No one remains who knows more about it than I do. It was made from tamarisk wood from al-Ghabah. So-and-so, the client of so-and-so [a woman], was a carpenter and made it. He brought it, and when it was set in place, the Prophet stood on it, faced the qiblah, and the people stood behind him. He recited, then bowed and raised his head. Then he stepped backward until he prostrated on the ground. Then he returned to the minbar, recited, then bowed and stood up; then he stepped backward until he prostrated on the ground.’
