Responding to the Imam’s Salam Sunan Ibn Majah 921
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْهُذَلِيُّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " إِذَا سَلَّمَ الإِمَامُ فَرُدُّوا عَلَيْهِ "
Translation
It wasnarrated from Samurah bin Jundub that the Prophet (ﷺ) said
“Whenthe Imam says the Salam, then respond to him.”
