حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ، فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It wasnarrated from Nafi’ that Ibn ‘Umar said

“The Messenger ofAllah (ﷺ) said: ‘If food is served and the Iqamah for prayer isgiven, then start with the food.”He said: "Ibn 'Umar ate dinner one night while he could hear the Iqamah."
