Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَيْقِيبٌ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فِي مَسْحِ الْحَصَى فِي الصَّلاَةِ " إِنْ كُنْتَ فَاعِلاً فَمَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً " .
Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah and Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim narrated to us; they said: Al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us: Al-Awzai narrated to us: Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to me: Abu Salamah narrated to me: Muayqib narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah said about smoothing pebbles during prayer: “If you must do it, then do it once.”
