Sunan Ibn Majah 1034
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ " .
Translation
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Hisham ibn Ammar narrated to us; they said: Sufyan ibn Uyaynah narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah: The Messenger of Allah said: “Tasbih is for men, and clapping is for women.”
