Sunan Ibn Majah 826
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لِخَبَّابٍ بِأَىِّ شَىْءٍ كُنْتُمْ تَعْرِفُونَ قِرَاءَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ قَالَ بِاضْطِرَابِ لِحْيَتِهِ .
Translation
'Ali ibn Muhammad narrated to us: Waki' narrated to us: Al-A'mash narrated to us, from 'Umarah ibn 'Umayr, from Abu Ma'mar, who said: I asked Khabbab, ‘By what could you recognize the Messenger of Allah's recitation in Zuhr and 'Asr?’ He said: ‘By the movement of his beard.’
