Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ضَرَبَ مَثَلَ الْجُمُعَةِ ثُمَّ التَّبْكِيرِ، كَنَاحِرِ الْبَدَنَةِ، كَنَاحِرِ الْبَقَرَةِ، كَنَاحِرِ الشَّاةِ، حَتَّى ذَكَرَ الدَّجَاجَةَ .
Translation
Abu Kurayb narrated to us: Waki narrated to us, from Said ibn Bashir, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Samurah ibn Jundub: The Messenger of Allah gave an example of Friday and arriving early: it is like one who slaughters a camel, then one who slaughters a cow, then one who slaughters a sheep, until he mentioned a chicken.
