حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ: أَنْصِتْ، يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، وَالإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ، فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ " .
Translation
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us: Shababah ibn Sawwar narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Dhib, from al-Zuhri, from Said ibn al-Musayyab, from Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet said: If you tell your companion to be quiet on Friday while the imam is delivering the sermon, you have engaged in idle talk.
