Sunan Ibn Majah 1135

Yusuf ibn Musa al-Qattan narrated to us: Jarir narrated to us. And Abdullah ibn Said narrated to us: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us. Both narrated from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from al-Zuhri, from al-Saib ibn Yazid, who said: The Messenger of Allah had only one muezzin. When he came out, the call to prayer was given; when he descended, the iqamah was given. Abu Bakr and Umar did the same. When Uthman came and the people had increased in number, he added a third call from a house in the market called al-Zawra. When he came out, the call to prayer was given; when he descended, the iqamah was given.
