It was narrated that Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Maymun al-Makki said: Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from ‘Umarah ibn al-Qa‘qa‘, from Abu Zur‘ah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: ‘They asked, “Messenger of Allah, to whom should we show the greatest kindness?” He replied, “Your mother.” They asked, “Then whom?” He replied, “Your mother.” They asked, “Then whom?” He replied, “Your father.” They asked, “Then whom?” He replied, “The nearest, then the next nearest.”’
