حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْهَرَوِيُّ، إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي أَبُو أُمِّي، مَالِكُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ لِلْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ " السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ " . قَالُوا وَعَلَيْكَ السَّلاَمُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ . قَالَ " كَيْفَ أَصْبَحْتُمْ " . قَالُوا بِخَيْرٍ نَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ فَكَيْفَ أَصْبَحْتَ بِأَبِينَا وَأُمِّنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ " أَصْبَحْتُ بِخَيْرٍ أَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ " .

It was narrated that Abu Ishaq al-Harawi—whose name was Ibrahim ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Hatim—said: ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Uthman ibn Ishaq ibn Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqas narrated to us; my maternal grandfather, Malik ibn Hamzah ibn Abi Usayd al-Sa‘idi, narrated to me from his father, from his grandfather Abu Usayd al-Sa‘idi, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to al-‘Abbas ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib as he entered among them, “Peace be upon you.” They replied, “And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.” He asked, “How are you this morning?” They said, “We are well, praise be to Allah. And how are you this morning, for whom our fathers and mothers would be sacrificed, Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “I am well, praise be to Allah.”’
