حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلاَ تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي " .

It was narrated that Abu Bakr said: Abu Mu‘awiyah narrated to us, from al-A‘mash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Use my name, but do not use my kunyah.’
