It was narrated from al-Nu‘man ibn Bashir that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Among the words by which you proclaim Allah’s majesty are glorifying Him, declaring His oneness, and praising Him. They circle around the Throne, humming like bees and mentioning the one who said them. Would any of you not like to have—or always have—something that keeps mentioning him?’

  • The chain includes uncertainty over whether ‘Awn ibn ‘Abdullah narrated from his father or his brother. The three forms of remembrance are tasbih (glorifying Allah), tahlil (declaring that there is no god but Allah), and tahmid (praising Allah).
