حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ . قُلْتُ لاِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَا قَوْلُهُ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ قَالَ لاَ يَكُونُ لَهُ سِمْسَارًا .

Al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Azim al-Anbari narrated to us; Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us; Mamar informed us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Ibn Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a town-dweller from selling on behalf of a Bedouin. I asked Ibn Abbas, “What does ‘a town-dweller for a Bedouin’ mean?” He said, “He must not act as his broker.”

Ibn Abbas explains the disputed phrase as the town-dweller not serving as the Bedouin’s broker.
Does “act as his broker” capture the meaning of simsar here?
