Waki reported to us, from Sufyan, from Yahya ibn Said, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, from his paternal uncle Wasi ibn Habban, from Rafi ibn Khadij, who said: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, ‘There is no amputation for [stealing] fruit or the palm spadix.’

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • Kuthar is the palm spadix; ‘produce’ is implicit in the theft context.
