'Amr ibn Rafi' narrated to us; 'Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak informed us; 'Isa ibn Yazid informed us—I think from Jarir ibn Yazid—from Abu Zur'ah ibn 'Amr ibn Jarir, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A prescribed punishment carried out on earth is better for the people of the earth than their being rained upon for forty mornings.
