Nasr ibn 'Ali al-Jahdami narrated to us; Hafs ibn 'Umar narrated to us; al-Hakam ibn Aban narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever denies a verse of the Quran, striking his neck becomes lawful. Whoever says, There is no deity but Allah alone, without partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, no one has a claim against him unless he commits an offense subject to a prescribed punishment and it is carried out upon him.
