Harun ibn Abdullah al-Hammal reported to us: Hajjaj ibn Muhammad reported to us: Yunus ibn Abi Ishaq reported to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Juhaifah, from Ali, who said: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, ‘Whoever commits a sin in this world and is punished for it, Allah is too just to repeat the punishment upon His servant. Whoever commits a sin in this world and Allah conceals it for him, Allah is too generous to return to something He has already pardoned.’
