Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " الصُّلْحُ جَائِزٌ بَيْنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِلاَّ صُلْحًا حَرَّمَ حَلاَلاً أَوْ أَحَلَّ حَرَامًا " .
Translation
Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah narrated to us: Khalid bin Makhlad narrated to us: Kathir bin Abdullah bin Amr bin Awf narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Reconciliation is permissible among the Muslims, except for a reconciliation that makes something lawful forbidden or makes something forbidden lawful.
