Mishkat al-Masabih 4443
Arabic hadith text
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «طِيبُ الرِّجَالِ مَا ظَهَرَ رِيحُهُ وَخَفِيَ لَوْنُهُ وَطِيبُ النِّسَاءِ مَا ظَهَرَ لَوْنُهُ وَخَفِيَ رِيحُهُ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ
Translation
Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Men perfume themselves with fragrance whose scent is apparent and color hidden; women perfume themselves with color apparent and scent hidden.” Al-Tirmidhi and al-Nasai transmitted it.
