Translation

Ibn al-Musayyab reported that he heard: “Allah is good and loves what is good; He is clean and loves cleanliness; He is generous and loves generosity; He is munificent and loves munificence. So clean your courtyards”—I think he said—“and do not imitate the Jews.” I mentioned this to Muhajir ibn Mismar, and he said that Amir ibn Sad reported it to him from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, with the same wording except that he said to clean your courtyards. Al-Tirmidhi transmitted it.
