Mishkat al-Masabih 4342
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اسْتَجَدَّ ثَوْبًا سَمَّاهُ بِاسْمِهِ عِمَامَةً أَوْ قَمِيصًا أَوْ رِدَاءً ثُمَّ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَمَا كسوتَنيه أَسأَلك خَيره وخيرَ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ
Abu Said al-Khudri reported: Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ acquired a new garment, such as a turban, shirt, or cloak, he would name it and then say, “O Allah, praise belongs to You for clothing me with it. I ask You for its good and the good for which it was made, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil for which it was made.” Al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.
