Mishkat al-Masabih 4348, 4349
وَعَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ تَرَكَ لُبْسَ ثوبِ جمالٍ وَهُوَ يقدرُ عَلَيْهِ وَفِي رَاوِيه: تَوَاضُعًا كَسَاهُ اللَّهُ حُلَّةَ الْكَرَامَةِ وَمَنْ تَزَوَّجَ لِلَّهِ تَوَجَّهُ اللَّهُ تَاجَ الْمُلْكِ ". رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد وَرَوَى التِّرْمِذِيُّ مِنْهُ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ حَدِيث اللبَاس
Suwayd ibn Wahb reported from a man among the descendants of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever gives up wearing fine clothes, though able to afford them, out of humility, Allah will clothe him in a robe of honor. Whoever marries for the sake of Allah, Allah will crown him with a crown of sovereignty.” Abu Dawud transmitted it. Al-Tirmidhi transmitted the clothing portion from Muadh ibn Anas.
