Arabic hadith text
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «خُفِّفَ عَلَى دَاوُدَ الْقُرْآنُ فَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِدَوَابِّهِ فَتُسَرَّحَ فَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُسَرَّحَ دَوَابُّهُ وَلَا يَأْكُلُ إِلَّا مِنْ عملِ يدَيهِ» . رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
Translation
Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet said: ‘Recitation of the Qur’an was made easy for David. He would order his mounts to be turned out, then recite the Qur’an before they were sent out. He ate only from the work of his own hands.’ Al-Bukhari transmitted it.
