Mishkat al-Masabih 5927

Abu Hurayrah reported: A wolf came to a shepherd and took a sheep from his flock. The shepherd pursued it and wrested the sheep from it. The wolf climbed a hill, crouched, and tucked its tail beneath it. It said, ‘You have taken the provision God, mighty and majestic, gave me. I had taken it, and then you snatched it from me.’ The man said, ‘By God, I have never seen a wolf speak like this!’ The wolf said, ‘More astonishing than that is a man among the palm trees between the two lava fields who tells you about what has passed and what will come after you.’ The man was a Jew. He came to the Prophet ﷺ, accepted Islam, and told him. The Prophet ﷺ confirmed his account, then said, ‘This is one of the signs before the Hour. A man will soon go out and not return before his sandals and whip tell him what his family did after he left.’ [Reported in Sharh al-Sunnah]
