Translation

‘A’ishah reported that she said, ‘Oh, my head!’ The Messenger of God ﷺ said, ‘That would be a problem if it happened while I was alive; I would seek forgiveness for you and pray for you.’ ‘A’ishah said, ‘Woe to me! By God, I think you want me to die. If that happened, you would spend the rest of your day as a bride with one of your other wives.’ The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Rather, it is I who says, “Oh, my head!” I considered sending for Abu Bakr and his son and making a bequest, lest someone make a claim or someone wish for something; then I said, “God refuses it, and the believers will push it away”—or, “God will push it away, and the believers will refuse it.”’ [Al-Bukhari transmitted it]
