Arabic hadith text
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْأَمْرُ ثَلَاثَةٌ: أَمْرٌ بَيِّنٌ رُشْدُهُ فَاتَّبِعْهُ وَأَمْرٌ بَيِّنٌ غَيُّهُ فَاجْتَنِبْهُ وَأَمْرٌ اخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ فَكِلْهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجل) رَوَاهُ أَحْمد
Translation
Ibn ʿAbbās reported that the Messenger of God said: ‘Matters are of three kinds: one whose right guidance is clear, so follow it; one whose error is clear, so avoid it; and one about which people differ, so entrust it to God, Mighty and Majestic.’ Aḥmad transmitted it.
