Mishkat al-Masabih 190
وَعَن ابْن عَبَّاس قَالَ: من تعلم كتاب الله ثمَّ ابتع مَا فِيهِ هَدَاهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ الضَّلَالَةِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَوَقَاهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ سُوءَ الْحِسَابِ وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ قَالَ: مَنِ اقْتَدَى بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ لَا يَضِلُّ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَلَا يَشْقَى فِي الْآخِرَةِ ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: (فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا يضل وَلَا يشقى) رَوَاهُ رزين
Ibn ʿAbbās said: ‘Whoever learns the Book of God and then follows what it contains, God will guide him away from error in this world and protect him from a bad reckoning on the Day of Resurrection.’ In another version, he said: ‘Whoever follows the Book of God will not go astray in this world or suffer in the Hereafter.’ He then recited: ‘Whoever follows My guidance will not go astray or suffer.’ (Qur’an 20:123.) Razīn transmitted it.
