Translation

Abu Hurayra said: I told the Messenger of God, “I am a young man and fear hardship for myself, but I have no means to marry women.” It was as though he was asking permission to be castrated. He remained silent. Then I said the same again, and he remained silent. Then I said the same again, and he remained silent. Then I said it once more, and the Prophet said, “Abu Hurayra, the pen has dried with what you are destined to encounter. So castrate yourself on that account, or leave it.” Bukhari transmitted it.
