Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of God said: ‘God’s hand is full; no expenditure diminishes it. He gives abundantly by night and by day. Have you considered what He has spent since He created the heavens and the earth? What is in His hand has not diminished. His Throne was upon the water, and in His hand is the balance; He lowers it and raises it.’ In a version transmitted by Muslim: ‘God’s right hand is full.’ Ibn Numayr said: ‘Full and pouring forth; nothing diminishes it, by night or day.’
